Did you know...that it's up to US to make sure a DEMOCRAT is elected in CD 2?

The countdown to early voting begins!

It IS up to us...up to us to call for Kate Marshall, canvass for her, and get out and VOTE for her.  Then once you do all that, please do one last thing.  Call one or two friends or colleagues who haven't paid much attention to this race and get them to go vote for Kate, too.  Together, we CAN win it.

Go to www.katefornevada for more info.  Early voting starts this Saturday!

You're NOT Going to Miss This Show, Are You?

Get your tickets NOW!

Join fellow Democrats this Friday at the Pioneer Underground for a night of political laughs.  Tickets are only $20 in advance and are available at HQ at 1465 Terminal Way.  You can get your ticket for $25 the day of the show.

Entertainers for the evening include one of the nation’s best political comics, Will Durst. Sweeping both sides of the aisle with a quiver full of arrows dipped in common sense, Durst transcends party ties, having performed at events honoring former Presidents Bill Clinton and George HW Bush as well as acclaimed appearances at both a Mayors Convention and Governors Conference. Outraged and outrageous, Durst is as current as today’s headlines, as accurate as a sniper, and universally acknowledged by even his peers as the nation’s foremost political comic.

Joining Will is comedian, Mari Esther Kaplan as political icon Sarah Palin. Mari is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC and has trained with William Esper and with Obie Award winning Stephen Rosenfield at the American Comedy Institute in NYC. To round off the performance we’ll have comedian Kurt Weitzmann performing as the controversial radio and ex-television host, Glenn Beck. Kurt began performing stand up at the infamous Holy City Zoo, a dark and wonderful place and has had his act on Comedy Central, MTV and more recently at The Vancouver Comedy Festival and at San Francisco Sketchfest.

Support Spanish-Language Progressive Radio in Washoe County

How important is it that Latino voters in Washoe County hear and understand a progressive voice?  It could very well make THE difference in whether we elect Republicans or Democrats to office in this county.

So please tune in as "Hoy Por Hoy" (Today for Today) celebrates its first full year on the air at 1590 AM this Friday morning at 11.  Listen in as hosts Xiomara Rodriguez and Ramon Suro share the progressive message with Spanish-speaking listeners for one hour every Friday.  Yes, they'll translate for English-speakers.

Then call the station at 827-1590 and let them know this important program must stay on the air.  It's how people like Kate Marshall, Senator Reid, members of the Legislative Spanish Caucus, and a long list of other Democrats have been able to communicate with Latino voters.

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Please be sure to check out the calendar of events at www.washoedems.org.  If you have friends or family members who want to help kick up the volume of the Democratic voice in Washoe County, bring them to one of our many events.  There are lots of ways get out and get involved!

Speak Up in a Letter to the Editor

People read them!  So it's a great way to make important points about current events.  Here are a few tips

Keep it short - Most publications have a limit on length.

Stick to one subject - Zero in on one message you want the reader to take away and present your case.

Make a reference to an article or opinion in the publication - It's more likely they'll publish your letter.

Reno Gazette Journal - limit of 200 words
