WashoeDEMS This Week December 1, 2011
Don't Let the Republicans Have All the Fun!
Whether you are an experienced caucus-goer or have never had the pleasure, you will NOT want to miss the mock caucus & potluck scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Party Headquarters.
Learn how this thing called a caucus works and how it will be different compared to the 2008 caucus. This will be a GREAT opportunity to bring friends and family, also, to show them how easy and important it will be to participate in the 2012 Presidential Precinct Caucuses on January 21. There has been so much media attention given to the multi-ring circus on the Republican side, it's time to remind ourselves and others that we have a responsibility to show up at our caucuses, as well.
And, if you'd like to stay for a little socializing, please plan to bring your favorite potluck dish and stay for the holiday party after the mock caucus. We'll have a lot of fun! Plus, you'll be able to pick up the perfect stocking stuffer for the Democrats on your gift list. Our USA/union made 2012 election coffee mugs will be available for $15 each or 2 for $25. We will see you Dec. 6th!
Mock Caucus & Holiday Potluck
5:30 PM
Tuesday, Dec. 6
Party HQ - 1465 Terminal Way, #1

Interested in Helping to Register More Democratic Voters?
Help Us Welcome Tom Hamilton,
Our New Voter Registration Committee Chair!
We are looking for more volunteers who want to help give Democratic candidates up and down the ticket a greater edge by registering more Democratic voters.
We'll talk about how and why we need to do that at 4:30 on Dec. 6, just before our mock caucus and holiday potluck begin. We are very excited to have Tom Hamilton come on board as Committee Chair. As the former OFA field director in Washoe County, Tom is a seasoned hand at voter registration!
We need volunteers to help register new voters on Caucus Day, Saturday, January 21. And, because of redistricting, our state legislators will be running in districts that look significantly different from their old ones. We need to help register new Democrats in targeted precincts to make sure we re-elect every one of our Democratic incumbents to the state legislature!
So, there's a lot to do and we need you to help us get the job done. Please join us at 4:30, Dec. 6, at party HQ...then stay to learn all about the caucus and to enjoy some holiday cheer!
Start the New Year by Becoming a Dues-Contributing Member...
We have a long list of things to do in 2012.
Let's see - we have to re-elect President Obama, elect Shelley Berkley to the US Senate, re-elect our Democratic incumbents to the state legislature and elect more Democrats to the City Councils, County Commission, and School Board.
The Democratic Party of Washoe County doesn't receive any financial assistance from the national or state party organizations. To maintain a constant presence in the community, to remain visible and viable over the long run even as candidates and campaigns come and go, we must raise all of our funding from committed Democrats right here in Washoe County. Will you pledge now to become a dues-contributing member of the county party? We suggest a $15 recurring monthly contribution for individuals, $25/month for families, and $50 a month for those who are able. Please go to www.washoedems.org now and make your commitment for 2012. Thanks on behalf of all of the people of Washoe County who care about the future of our community, our state, and our country.
