DPWC Voter Registration Team Retools for 2012 Precinct Caucuses
Volunteers needed to help register new Democrats on January 21
The Democratic Party of Washoe County is gearing up for the 2012 Presidential Precinct Caucuses and needs your help!
Unlike the Republican caucuses, ours will be an open and inclusive process, including same-day voter registration. So newcomers, and non-partisans and Republicans who are just fed up with the obstructionist tactics of the GOP, can change their registration status on Caucus Day and stand up in support of President Obama.
The Washoe County Precinct Caucuses will be held in 3 or 4 dozen locations, including schools, community centers, and other public buildings. Each location will accommodate voters from several precincts.
If you are NOT already signed up to be a temporary caucus chair or secretary, and would like to assist with voter registration, please email us at ed@washoedems.org or call 323-8683.
For more information on the 2012 caucuses, go to www.pledgetocaucus.com, and tell your friends and family!

Bring your favorite dish (surprise us!) and enjoy some Democratic holiday cheer at the social potluck to follow.

5:30 -- Mock Caucus
6:00 -- Holiday Potluck
Where: Democratic Party HQ

Help Shelley Protect Choice in Nevada
The right-wing zealots who sponsored the so-called, and unsuccessful, "personhood amendment" in Mississippi have turned their sights on Nevada where they plan to launch the same radical campaign.
As Nevada Congresswoman and US Senate Candidate Shelley Berkley points out, the "amendment" would completely wipe out a woman's right to choose an abortion, even in cases of rape and incest. AND, the language could even outlaw some forms of contraception. It's outrageous for many reasons and Shelley Berkley is standing up on the front line of the fight against this assault on women's rights.
We can help Shelley in this fight by signing her Petition to Protect Choice here. Please do it today!
Since his election to Congress where he's simply a puppet of the far-right, Dean Heller has consistently voted against women's right to choose and on the wrong side of all women's health issues. One on a long list of reasons why we need to elect Shelley Berkley to the Senate in 2012!
Join Washoe Women for Shelley...
Sign up now to join a new network of Washoe County Women who will spend the next year introducing Shelley to their friends, neighbors, colleagues, and families. We must include non-partisan women and Republican women who see how destructive Dean Heller's voting record is for women, children, and families.
Shelley can...and WILL...win this Senate race with our help! Email ed@washoedems.org to be part of Washoe Women for Shelley!
Cute...but Tasty!
Mark your calendars now...the TMDA Crab Feed has been scheduled for February 18, 2012, at the Sparks Recreation Center.
